Developing safe vegetable value chain in Hoa Vang suburban district

Description:

Vegetable is one of foodstuff being always on the daily meal. The microorganism pollution, harmful chemicals, heavy metals and the vegetable protection medicines remaining plants are able to largely affect to the health of people. During the last few years, the demand of vegetable consumption has been very large. However, the safe vegetable manufacture still has some relevant difficulties, in particular: low volume, not meeting the safe vegetable consumption of people in city; vegetables from farmers having not participated into consumption at modern retail selling system, bring about the low benefits; having not certified the safe level of vegetable products yet, thus, not making trust on consumers…however, the activity of value chain development based on Value Links has conducted in the context of nation as a whole with a range of the agricultural products, particularly: avocado, shark catfish, vegetable…and achieving many possible results. Possibly, the development of value chain is a tool of increasing the value of agriculture manufacture. With the aim of helping out people in Hoa Vang Suburban District, it is possible to manufacture and consume the safe vegetable with high income, playing a role of green agriculture belt of supplying the safe vegetable to city, Da Nang Institute for Socio-Economic Development jointly cooperates with People’s Committee of Suburban District (directly with industry and trade department in Suburban District) to conduct “The development of the safe vegetables chain in Hoa Vang Suburban District until 2020” project.
The objectives of the project:
It is expected to achieve some relevant following results, via the value chain analysis tool:
Providing the relevant information to relevant regional government, individuals and organization.
Defining the vision, strategy and approach of the safe vegetable chain in Suburban District on the way of increasing benefit of planters, contributing to stabilize the socio-economic lives of people in suburban area of Hoa Vang.
The contents of the project:
Part 1: Some issues of agricultural product value chain, regulations of government about safe vegegables and experiences of collective organizations in the nation as a whole.
Part 2: The real situation of safe vegetable chian in Hoa Vang Suburban District.
Part 3: The approach of safe vegetable chain development in Hoa Vang Suburban District.
